I Have Been Accused Of Using My Past As An Excuse
For Some Of The Things That I Do
I Have Examined This Closely And Found That It Was True
And I Have Set About Changing Those Things That I Needed To
I'm Not Perfect By Any Means And I Will Never Claim To Be
It Took 40 Years For All Of That Negativity To Be Instilled In Me
With Jesus's Help Though I Am Now Setting My Soul Free
I've Also Been Told I Will Never Change, That It's An Impossibility
To That I Say, Have A Little Faith In Jesus, And In Me
I Know It Will Not Happen Over Night But It Will Come Gradually
I Can Already Feel It Happening, So Please Don't Be So Quick To Judge Me
You Have Not Walked My Path Nor Experienced My Pain And Misery
Just Know That Jesus Has Shined His Light Upon My Sin
And In His Heart, In His Love For Me He Understands And He Has Forgiven
I Am No Longer That Poor Abused Unloved Little Girl Begging For Attention
I'm A Woman Fully Grown And To The Lord I've Given My Confession
In My Heart Is Stored All That Love I For So Long Have Longed To Bestow
Every Day Jesus Fills My Heart And It Continues To Grow
So Please Don't Be So Eager To Judge Me For You Really Don't Know
I Have A Deep Deep Faith And It's Seed I Will Spread And Help Sew
I Believe Deep In My Heart There Is A Reason I Survived All Of That
And That Is Because Jesus Led Me Through So Today I Could Be Where I'm At
You Don't Have To Like Me Or Even Approve Of Who I Am
Just Know That I Am A Child Of God, A Real Person, And Try To Understand
I Don't Mean You Any Harm And I'm Not Out To Hurt Anyone
I'm Just A Woman Immersed In Her Faith With A Heart Full Of Love
Trying To Learn The Right Ways In Life With Help From Our Lord Above
I'll Be The First To Admit That I Have A Lot To Overcome
I Have Learned There Is Only One Who Has The Right To Judge
That Is Our Lord And He Does So With Forgiveness And Love
We Can All Stand To Be A Little More Forgiveing
I Don't Know About You But For Me That Has Been The Hardest Thing
I Wont Give Up, It's A Struggle I Am Determined To Win
Jesus Sees My Struggle Whithin, Wraps Me In His Love And Helps Me With It
Being Perfect Is An Impossibility, That's Something Only Our Lord Can Be
Jesus Has Said To Me, "Child Just Be The Best You Can Be For Me"
And That My Brothers And Sisters Is What I'm Trying To Achieve
No Matter Who You Are Or What Age, No Matter What Walk Of Life
Turn To Jesus And Give Him Your Pain, Let Him Take Your Strife
Give Him Praise For Getting You As Far As Today
Jeusus Loves You Like No Other, No Matter What Others Say
Lift Your Hands To Him And Pray, Ask Him To Lead You The Rest Of The Way
Forgive The Ones Who Gave You Pain And Pray They Too Find Jesus Someday
For He Can Take From Them Too Their Bitterness And Pain
Be Amazed As He Fills All Our Hearts With Beauty And Grace
Don't Be Afraid In Life No Matter What You Must Face
God Is Right Beside You, Don't Turn Away
He Is Waiting With Open Arms To Hear Whatever You Have To Say
Trust In Him, Love Him, Give Him Praise, He Will See You Through All The Rest Of
Your Days
