Have You Ever Asked Yourself, How Did You Get Here?
To What Standards Of Others Did You Adhere?
Did They Bring You Joy Or Did You Adopt Them Out Of Fear ?
Do You Still Use Them Today? Are They Something You Hold Dear?
As Children We Are Often Shaped Into A Certain Mold
We Adjust To Our Environment And Do As We Are Told
We're Simply To Young To Behave As If We Have Minds Of Our Own
We Trust People To Lead Us And Advise Us, Adults That Are Grown
Sometime's It Works Out For The Best
We Follow That Guidance And Are Truly Blessed
But Sometimes It All Goes Horribly Wrong
We Find Out As Adults We're Just Scraping Along
The Things We Were Taught As Children Just Aren't True
You Aren't Stuck With This Lot In Life, There Is Something You Can Do
It's Not Written In Stone You Have To Do What Was Done Unto You
You Can Break Those Chains, You Don't Have To Repeat The Lies And Abuse
You Don't Have To Repeat The Mistakes From Your Past
Give Them To The Lord And Get Rid Of All Of That
Think About The Kind Of Person You Really Want To Be
One Full Of Kindness And Compassion, Emmotionally Burden Free
Our Father Is Calling , "Child Come To Me "
He Will Take You Burden And He Will Do It Gladly
His Love For You Will Spiritually Set You Free
He Will Seal Your Wounds And Give You Security
Then When You Ask Yourself " How Did I Get Here?"
The Answer Will Be, My Father Led Me, And He Holds Me So Dear
His Light Took The Darkness From My Heart And Allowed Me To See
That I Am His Creation And He Has Always Had The Greatest Love For Me
