For Many Years I Felt I Was Locked Inside A Dark Tomb
Now Looking Back I Can See What Was Hidden In Darkeness, Proof
Each Prayer I Sent As A Child Was Answered By You
Mainly Just By Holding My Hand And Giving Me The Strength To Make It Thru
The Times I Cowered In Fear Knowing I Was Going To Get A Beating
Praying That My Fathers Temper Would Be Short And Fleeting
Praying That The Kids In School Wouldn't Pick On Me Too Badly On Certain Days
When You Answered These Prayers For Me I Offered Up My Childish Praise
All Of These Trials And Many More I Know I Could Not Have Faced On My Own
When Things Got Really Bad, You Heard My Plea And Sent Mike To Give Me A Home
For Twenty Four Years We Have Loved And Fought Together, Raising Two Girls Of Our Own
When They Left, You Once Again Answered My Plea By Leading Me To The Kindest Church
I've Ever Known
I Wear Each Scar From My Earthly Life As Badges Of Proof
Of How Deeply Your Love For Me Took Root
I Never Before Realized The Vastness Of Your Eternal Love
I Know With Out A Doubt Whatever I Face You Will Always Help Me To Rise Above
Now Mike And I Are Faced With An Empty Nest
