Raised In A World Full Of Anger And Hate
Being Ashamed Became My Permanent State
Avoiding Friendships And Spending Time Alone
Being Around Other People Was A Danger Zone
Someone Always Had Something Negative To Impart
Always Seeming To Be Directed At My Heart
I Built Around Myself A Protective Wall
Keeping That Wall In Place Became The Most Important Objective Of All
People Around Me Were Mean And Cruel
There Wasn't Anything Else I Could Do
Until One Day Someone Revealed To Me The Truth
Telling Me I Had A Choice, And Now Was The Time To Choose
The Truth Is There's A Reason Things Happen To You
There's Something You Can't See That God Doesn't Want You To Pursue
Something He Doesn't Want You To Go Through
I Know It Doesn't Always Make Sense But It's Not Meant To
All Of My Life I Felt Unwanted And Used
Now I'm Thankful Because I Know The Truth
Treating People That Way Was Not In Gods Plan For Me
He Has Something Else In Mind That I'm Just Beginning To See
If I Had Been Accepted Back Then As One Of The Group
I Would Be A Very Different Person Today, Full Of Darkness And Abuse
Instead I've Decided To Stay On The Right Path And Live In The Light
It's Difficult At First And No One Ever Gets It Exactly Right
Whats Important To Jesus Is That You Continue To Try
It Get's A Little Easier Every Day And That Only Increases My Faith
I Know I Am Loved And I Gladly Accept His Gift Of Grace
When I Fall As I Often Do, He Helps Me To Get Back Up
Patiently Reminding Me Of His Grace And His Love
Instilling In Me The Courage To Never Give Up
