A Fathers Shame, Sons Blame
{By Candice Landis 2012 }
A Fathers Heart Weighted With Guilt From Mistakes Of The Past
A Sons Heart Filled With Pain And Bitterness So Vast
Striking Out Against Each Other Time After Time
Both Have Built Walls Too High For The Other To Climb
The Sons Heart Silently Screams I Needed You Dad
The Fathers Silently Cries, I'm Sorry Son, I Feel So Bad
All That Can Be Heard Is Anger And Resentment
The Hidden Fear That They Will Never Reach Peace And Contentment
The Son Smokes Weed To Numb His Brain
The Father Drinks Whiskey To Drown His Pain
Both Are Hurting But To Angry To Really See
The Wounds To Each Others Hearts They Are Inflicting
I Pray For Them Both To Some Day Realize
They No Longer Have To Swim Against That Angry Tide
It's Posssibe To Let Go And Forgive
To Build A New Stronger Relationship
One That Is Free OF Bitterness And Pain
There Is No Need To Feel Shame
Love Each Other And Be Amazed
As The Darkness Receeds And Your Life Is Changed
Just One Of You Needs To Decide
To Step Forward And Break The Angry Stride
That's All It Takes
That And The Smallest Amount Of Faith
Turn To Jesus And Pray For His Help
To Guide You Both In Forgiving Yourselves
Let Go Of The Anger And The Resentment
Ask Jesus To Led You Both To Contentment
