Hope

She Turns To Him,He Turns Away
She Swallows The Words She Was About To Say
They've Been Married Twenty Four Years Today
She Was Going To Suggest Dinner Out, Even Tho It's Nothing To Celebrate
What They Once Had Has Long Sinse Been Dead
The Kids Are Grown And Gone, Leaving No Reason To Pretend
They Grunt At Eachother When They Pass By
As The Last Dregs Of Their Marriage Curl Up And Die
They've Both Cheated, Had Affairs,
His Physical Hers More Emotional, But That's Just Splitting Hairs
Neither One Of Them Any Longer Wants To Be There
He Tells Her To Stay But Deep Down He Doesn't Care
He Knows The Courts Will Give Her Half
She's Afraid To Devistate Him Like That
She's Turned To Jesus And He Doesn't Understand
She Seems Happier, More At Peace, He Thinks She's Seeing Another Man
She Tearfully Looks At Him And Holds Out Her Hand
In A Way, She Says, I Am
Will You Come With Me And Talk To Him?
See What I See, And Let Him Heal You From Within?
He Shrugs His Shoulders And Mutters Whatever
But The Next Sunday They Go To Church Together
After The Service He's Tells Her He Doesn't Know If He Will Return But It Was Okay
She Smiles Weakly And Thanks Him For Comming Anyway
The Next Week He Asks Are We Going To Church On Sunday
She Just Nods Her Head Quietly And He Says Okay
Thank You Jesus She Silently Prays
We May Not Make It But I Trust In You To Heal Us Both And Lead The Way
