My Saviors Love For Me

For The Last Year I Have Had A Most Fervent Prayer
A Request That Could Almost Be Considered A Dare
I Asked Our Savior To Prove He Really Cared
To Give Me Proof Not Only Of His Love, But Proof He Was Really There
I Asked Him To Help Me Improve My Health
I Told Him I Couldn't Do It Without His Help
I Asked That He Guide Me In This, As He Does In Everything Else
I Had Let It Go For Too Long And Was Lost Inside Myself
The Pains Started Coming Mostly At Night
They Started In My Jaw On The Right
Traveled Down My Shoulder And Across My Back
So I Went To The Dentist And He Filled A Tooth That Was Bad
About A Week Later The Pains Started Again
This Time They Ran Down Both Arms And Into My Hands
I Mentioned It To Lacey Knowing She Would Freak
I Think Her Firm Insistence The Lord Knew I Would Need
She Took Me To The Emergency Room
They Ran Some Blood Work And All Heck Broke Loose
In The Blink Of An Eye I Was In An Ambulance On My Way To St. Lukes
They Told Me When I Got There, "Don't Worry, We'll Take Good Care Of You "
They Got Me Into Bed And Put Electrodes All Over My Chest
Started Talking About Heart Attacks And Stress
They Said I Needed A heart Cath
Startled I Asked, What's That ?
My Nurse Kelly Explained, You've Had A Heart Attack
We Need To Go In And See How Bad

So I Watched The Video And It Seemed Simple Enough
Running A Tube Into My Heart, Injecting Dye, It Was All Scary Stuff
It Was Scheduled The Next Morning At Ten
I Could Feel Jesus When They Operated, Of His Presence I Was Certain
I Kept Asking Him Are You Here? Over And Over Again
Inside My Head I Heard Him Answer, " I Am"
When I Seen My Heart On The Monitor And Felt A Sharp Tug In My Chest
My Eyes Suddenly Grew Heavy And I Heard Him Whisper, "Rest"
I Woke Up When It Was Over Filled With Such Faith And Conviction
I Was Going To Change My Life, Follow Every Restriction
Christ Had Answered My Prayers, I Was Being Given A Second Chance
I Was Going To Learn How To Be Healthy And Advance
The Damage To My Heart Was Light
I Can Reverse All The Harm I've Done And Live A Long Healthy Happy Life
It's Up To Me, I Can Keep Going Like This And Die, Or I Can Take A Stand And Fight
I Chose To Fight And I Know I Will Win Because I'm Walking With Jesus Christ
